Causeway CARes Donates Van to Ocean’s Harbor House Street Outreach Program

Vehicle donation will expand critical outreach to teens and young adults experiencing homelessness, housing instability and crisis

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Causeway CARes, funded by the Wintrode Family Foundation, has donated a van to Ocean’s Harbor House to strengthen its Street Outreach Program and help staff reach teens and young adults experiencing homelessness, housing instability or crisis throughout the community.

The van was donated as part of the Causeway CARes Vehicle Donation Program, an initiative that provides vehicles to local nonprofit organizations where reliable transportation can directly enhance their ability to serve the community.

For Ocean’s Harbor House, the new vehicle will support its Intensive Street Outreach and Wellness Support Program, allowing staff to meet young people where they are and provide immediate assistance, including basic necessities, mental health and wellness support, and connections to housing and other critical services.

Founded in 2004 and funded by the Wintrode Family Foundation, Causeway CARes partners with nonprofit and community organizations throughout Ocean County to address local needs and strengthen the organizations serving the region. Its Vehicle Donation Program is one of the many ways Causeway CARes provides practical resources that can have an immediate and lasting impact.

For nearly four decades, Ocean’s Harbor House has provided housing, outreach and supportive services for vulnerable teens and young adults. Through transitional living, education, workforce development, life skills, wellness support and community outreach, the organization helps young people move toward greater stability and independence.

The new van represents more than transportation. It gives the Ocean’s Harbor House team another important tool to reach young people who may otherwise remain disconnected from the services and support available to them.
