The Causeway CARes 5K Returns for Its 9th Year

MANAHAWKIN, NJ – What started as a local fundraiser has grown into a meaningful community tradition. The 9th Annual Causeway CARes 5K returns on Sunday, September 20, with a goal of making an even greater impact on the lives of local families throughout Ocean County.

For nearly a decade, the Causeway CARes 5K, presented by the Causeway Family of Dealerships and Causeway CARes, has united runners, walkers, families, sponsors, and volunteers around a shared mission: supporting local nonprofit organizations that provide essential services to those in need.

Over the past eight years, the event has raised more than $500,000 for local charities, helping fund programs that address food insecurity, support seniors, provide critical home repairs, and strengthen the community in countless ways.

Last year marked a significant milestone for the event. Although severe weather forced the cancellation of the race for the first time in its history, the generosity of the community remained stronger than ever. Through the support of sponsors, participants, and donors, the Causeway CARes 5K raised more than $100,000, making it the most successful fundraising year to date. The proceeds were distributed equally among Fulfill, Project Home Repair, and Meals on Wheels of Ocean County, helping each organization continue its important work serving local residents in need.

“The Causeway CARes 5K has always been about more than running,” said David C. Wintrode, President of the Causeway Family of Dealerships and Causeway CARes. “It’s about bringing people together to support our neighbors and strengthen our community. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has helped make this event such a success over the years.”

This year’s event will once again welcome participants of all ages and abilities. Whether running competitively, walking with family and friends, volunteering, or sponsoring the event, everyone has an opportunity to be part of the Causeway CARes mission.

The impact of the Causeway CARes 5K extends far beyond race day. Funds raised through the event help support local nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to improving the lives of Ocean County residents. By participating, sponsoring, or volunteering, community members play a direct role in strengthening the place we all call home. The beneficiaries of this year’s event will be announced soon, so stay tuned to see how your support will make a difference throughout our community

“The support from our community continues to amaze us year after year,” said Joe Stroffolino, Director of Marketing and Advertising for the Causeway Family of Dealerships and Race Director of the Causeway CARes 5K. “We look forward to welcoming everyone back this September as we celebrate nine years of giving back and making a positive impact throughout our community.”

As the 9th Annual Causeway CARes 5K approaches, community members, local businesses, and supporters are encouraged to get involved. Every registration, sponsorship, donation, and volunteer hour helps make a difference.

Together, the Causeway CARes 5K community has helped raise more than half a million dollars for local causes over the past eight years. On September 20, that tradition of giving will continue as participants once again come together to support their neighbors and strengthen the community.
