Driving Change: Sea Change Recovery Community Organization Receives Causeway’s “CauseWheels” vehicle donation
The donation was made possible through the Causeway Family of Dealership and Causeway CARes.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ – Causeway CARes is dedicated to making a lasting impact in the community, and its latest act of generosity is helping to drive real change. Causeway CARes and the Causeway Family of Dealerships recently donated a vehicle to Sea Change Recovery Community Organization (Sea Change) a nonprofit organization committed to providing recovery support, harm reduction services, and outreach to individuals facing significant challenges. This donation marks an important milestone for Sea Change, allowing the organization to expand its reach and enhance its ability to provide critical services.
Transportation is often a significant barrier for individuals in recovery. Attending support meetings, medical appointments, and securing employment all require reliable transportation, which many individuals lack. “With this donation, Sea Change can now provide more consistent access to essential services, ensuring that clients can attend therapy sessions, counseling, and medical visits without the added stress of transportation obstacles,” stated Elizabeth Burke Beaty, Executive Director of Sea Change. Additionally, the organization will be able to extend its outreach efforts, delivering vital supplies such as food, hygiene products, and harm reduction materials directly to those in need, particularly individuals who are homebound or experiencing homelessness.
“The impact of this donation extends beyond transportation; it promotes stability and independence for those working to rebuild their lives,” continued Beaty. Reliable transportation can be the key to securing employment, attending job interviews, and accessing opportunities that support long-term recovery. By providing a means for individuals to overcome logistical challenges, this donation strengthens the foundation for lasting success.
“We saw the need for reliable transportation to support Sea Change’s operations and were impressed by the dedication and hard work of their team,” said David C. Wintrode, President of Causeway Family of Dealerships/Causeway CARes. “Our goal with the “CauseWheels” vehicle donation program is to help organizations like Sea Change continue their vital work in the community.”
The donated vehicle is already making an impact. Within hours of receiving it, the Sea Change team loaded it with essential supplies and delivered them to individuals in need. For participants like Maria, who has struggled with transportation, this gift provides newfound stability. With the ability to attend aftercare programs, keep appointments, and pursue employment, she now has a greater opportunity to build a brighter future.
The “CauseWheels” vehicle donation program by Causeway CARes aims to support non-profit organizations by providing them with much-needed transportation solutions. This initiative helps organizations like Sea Change to carry out their missions more effectively. The support from Causeway CARes highlights the importance of community collaboration in addressing pressing issues such as education and recovery support.

About The CauseWheels Vehicle Donation
The CauseWheels Vehicle Donation Program exists to help its neighbors and positively impact Ocean County. The program started in 2019 after The Causeway Family of Dealerships had two requests for vehicle donations to local non-profit organizations. Both requests were graciously accommodated. This prompted the idea to follow up Causeway’s 2019’s 50th Anniversary celebration with the new CauseWheels Vehicle Donation Program.
