Causeway CARes to be Honored with Community Leadership Award at Fulfill’s 40th Anniversary Gala

MANAHAWKIN, NJ – On September 26th, Causeway CARes, funded by the Wintrode Family Foundation, will receive the esteemed Community Leadership Award at Fulfill’s 40th Anniversary Gala, recognizing the significant partnership between Fulfill and Causeway CARes/ The Causeway Family of Dealerships. This accolade highlights a longstanding collaboration that has significantly contributed to addressing food insecurity in Ocean and Monmouth Counties and supporting local communities. Other honorees include Governor Philip & First Lady Tammy Murphy, The Honorable Thomas A Arnone & The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, and Monmouth Beach Kids Quench Hunger.

The partnership between Fulfill and Causeway CARes has deep roots, thanks to David C. Wintrode, President of Causeway Family of Dealerships and Causeway CARes. Wintrode’s commitment to community service and his tenure as a former board member of Fulfill laid the groundwork for this impactful alliance.

Joseph Stroffolino, the current Vice-Chair of Fulfill, and Director of Advertising and Marketing for Causeway Family of Dealerships/Causeway CARes, reflected on the ongoing legacy of this collaboration. “I am carrying the torch that Dave was running with for nine years,” Stroffolino said. “Whenever we have a partnership agency that needs transportation, we have always been able to assist in finding the appropriate vehicle.”

Causeway CARes’ CauseWheels Vehicle Donation Program has been instrumental in this effort. To date, the program has purchased, recycled, and donated over 30 vehicles, many of which have been directed to Fulfill’s partner organizations. Wintrode emphasizes the essence of their work: “The key is always collaboration. That’s the whole purpose of Causeway CARes – to give back to our nonprofit partners and thus, the community.”

“Food insecurity is the canary in the coal mine”, said Triada Stampas, President & CEO of Fulfill. “Families are on the brink of distress because households tend to guard their resources to protect the roof over their head and then start to make sacrifices where they can – and that often is food.”

Fulfill, now distributing 1.1 million meals per month, stands as a source of inspiration in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Partnerships with nearly 300 community-based organizations drive the ground-level efforts to distribute food and connect people to essential services.

“At Causeway Family of Dealerships/Causeway CARes, we are in the business of cars, but our true mission extends beyond that,” noted Wintrode. “If we can leverage our resources to support one of the 300 partner agencies or help Fulfill distribute nutritious food to those in need across Ocean and Monmouth counties, we see it as our responsibility and privilege to do so. Our goal is to make a meaningful impact in our community by using our business to drive positive change.”

The Community Leadership Award bestowed upon Causeway CARes at Fulfill’s 40th Anniversary Gala celebrates not only past achievements but also a shared commitment to addressing critical social issues. As both organizations continue their partnership, their collective efforts serve as a powerful example of how collaboration can drive meaningful change in the community.
